How can Hypnosis help Relationships?
People have been turning to hypnotherapy to help them with relationship issues for some time now, but it is only just becoming talked about. The Daily Mail recently ran an article about how celebrities Cheryl Cole, Camilla Dallerup, Emma Healey and Sarah Tucker had all consulted Hypnotists concerning high profile relationship issues.
It is stating the obvious to say that our lives evolve and for a couple this could signal a moving closer together or further apart.
Traditional counselling usually involves both parties turning up two or three times a week for months or even years. On the other hand, hypnotherapy can be effective within a few sessions. Sometimes one session makes all the difference in the world and the client will leave feeling that the issues are well and truly behind them.
The hypnotherapist will usually see the couple separately and sometimes only one side needs to attend at all. This approach leads to more openness, less suspicion and helps to uncover the root of the breakdown more quickly.
Let’s look at a few ways that hypnotherapy can directly help.
To Identify the Underlying Problem
Sometimes the clients cannot put their fingers on the reason for their unhappiness, but just have a feeling of drifting apart. It could even be something small in the daily routine, which will become apparent under hypnosis. The hypnotherapist can then help them to change their perceptions and behaviours accordingly.
To Reduces Stress and Anxiety
It doesn’t matter if we are talking about a busy couple running kids back and forth from school or retirees spending most of their time together, stress and anxiety can build to unmanageable levels. Again, a professional hypnotherapist has the tools to help their patients to manage these unwanted feelings or even alleviate them altogether.
To Improve Confidence
Confidence tends to lead to openness and hypnotherapy is a great for helping people to achieve a real boost in that area.
To Improve Motivation
Some couples fall into the “same old, same old” routine. They know that something is wrong and leave it to be sorted out in the future. This can be overcome with a little help from the subconscious.
To Move On
Many people, including some of those mentioned at start of this article, see a hypnotherapist after the relationship has broken down and a complete separation has happened. Perhaps they are in new relationships, but still have feelings of incomprehension, guilt, betrayal, lingering loyalty, etc. With a little help from a hypnotherapist they can usual handle these unwanted feelings and move on to enjoy future happiness.
Should you bring your partner with you?
What I cannot do is to change what has happened in the past, but I can help to change perceptions of the past. Now it is likely that each party starts with their own view of the situation. For this reason, they will be hypnotised separately, but they can choose to jointly attend the information session.
Will Hypnotherapy Help You
I always invite people to come in for a Free Chat first. During this meeting I describe what to expect and how the therapy works. We then run through any questions that surface and suggest that number of sessions required. I like clients to leave me with all the information that they require. They can then consider my proposal and decide whether to take it further.
I don’t use a “one size fits all” method and all therapy is tailored for the individual. Also, as part of the process all my clients receive a CD or MP3 file, which acts as a “top up”, should it ever be required.
I’m always happy to meet people for a free chat and you are welcome to phone me on +34 655 675 065 or click this link to fire off an email.
