Can Hypnotherapy Help Me to Stop Smoking?
That is a great question, but there is an equally important one for you to answer first. Do you really, really want to stop smoking?
If you really want to quit, the success rates for doing so with hypnosis are very encouraging. Individual therapists usually don’t give out numbers because they can be deemed to be misleading. It is not a case of being “cagey” as they can only work with the specific feedback that they have received. Not everyone gives it and the only real way is to validate it with a proper scientific study, with follow-up procedures, such as blood tests. Some independent, studies place it around the 90% mark. There is plenty of independent, reputable, research for you to find on Google.
Once you have decided that you really do want to quit smoking, chat with a professional hypnotherapist. They will usually be pleased to meet with you to answer any questions and as importantly ask you quite a few. They are not being nosey, but everyone had their own unique reasons for starting to smoke and for wanting to return to being a non-smoker again. “One size doesn’t fit all”, so a professional, focused approach usually yields the best results.
Nowadays many smokers turn to YouTube. That is great if it works, but we get back to that “one size doesn’t fit all” thing again.
The safest option is to find a hypnotherapist that you feel comfortable working with. Someone who will give you proper advice on how to prepare yourself, what is going to happen during the therapy and what your realistic expectations should be.
