Why do I become anxious?

It is a primal fight-or-flight response that protects you from dangers.

We don't often have to flee from dangerous animals now, but modern life can be just as stressful.

A surge in your adrenaline causes your heart to beat faster, pumping oxygen around your body to those parts that need to protect you.

While this happens, you may feel unable to calm down, relax, or focus your mind properly.

Typical causes

Is it an event that is causing your anxiety? Such as:

  • Moving home

  • Health appointments

  • Dealing with officialdom

  • Meeting new people

  • Speeches and presentations

  • Flying

Being anxious and stressed can trigger off  changes in your chemistry.

Reducing Anxiety

Simple changes to your day to day life can help to reduce anxiety and stress.  However, please consult your medical doctor first if you are experiencing any physical symptoms.

A course of hypnotherapy sessions may reduce or eliminate unwanted feelings.  As the therapy has commences you should expect to feel calmer, more able to make decisions, have greater clarity of thought and sleep soundly.
